They cannot use any standard mounts (except D.Va, who uses a regular mount while in Pilot Mode). Some Heroes have their mount button function changed. There is no clear rule, however, which non-toggleable Abilities can be used without dismounting. Toggle Abilities, like Fenix's Weapon Mode, and some active Traits and Abilities, such as Azmodan's Demon Lieutenant and Gul'dan's Life Tap, can be used without dismounting the Hero. Mounting is instant and has no cooldown as long as the Hero remains in the Hall of Storms. Dismounting, when a Hero is successfully mounted, places mount on a 4 second cooldown. Taking damage, attacking, or using most Abilities will interrupt the channel and dismount a mounted Hero immediately, effectively preventing the use of mounts in combat. While mounted, Heroes receive a 30% boost to their Movement Speed, which allows them to cross the Battleground or get to Objectives quickly. Heroes mount by pressing the 'Z' key, causing them to channel in place for 1 second, and start riding their mount. Since Heroes of the Storm got out of beta, many of the bundles have changed. *Piggy Bank mount can only be unlocked with gold so it is not included in the number of available mounts.
Note, that all the heroes can be unlocked through the in-game currency, Gold, which you earn for leveling up and completing Quests.
